Abstract: [ENG] We discuss two projects that quantify the consequences of our network location for our access to resources and rewards in science. First, we investigate the dynamics of international science through the lens of national citation preferences, introducing a novel measure to characterize these processes and enabling a network analysis of global knowledge production.

We run a 2x2 between-subject laboratory experiment with 384 participants to test the effect of a recommender system's algorithms on individuals' teaming experience, team processes, and team performance.

Abstract: [ENG] Algorithmic matching is a pervasive mechanism in our social and economic lives, used for example in algorithmic job search engines, kidney transplant allocation algorithms, medical residency program allocation, and search engines for finding romantic partners and potential spouses.

Abstract: [ENG] Education professionals, researchers, and even most student would agree that learning and development in its largest sense are highly social processes.

Abstract: The study of polarization as a social phenomenon has inspired a rich literature on methods and socio-demographic features to characterize them. Although there are propositions to capture polarization in geographies, such as mapping inequality or rural population in territories, those alternatives lack the ability to represent variations of political polarization over time.

-- Cultural products have a life of their own: academic papers get cited and songs get downloaded. While scholars have studied these patterns, we know little about how to model the decay of attention.
